Crypto is a money laundering scam and implementing it makes discord untrustworthy with my data or money

Just as the title says. NFTs and crypto in general are just scams to trick people into laundering money. If discord, a very rich company, is getting into it, the only thing I can assume is that the company or its executives are involved in illicit dealings and are trying to use crypto to cover their trail. It’s not a good look and if it continues I will be cancelling my Nitro and will be finding a different platform that doesn’t seem so criminal.

  No coincidence every single big company is getting into them, too.

  It's such an obvious MLS, I don't know how people are still not wanting them to go.

  yeah, pretty much anyone who isn't Extremely Online views crypto as fishy at best, and an outright scam at worst. and even among those that're online enough to regularly use discord... it's pretty obvious that the people who know crypto facilitates scams and hurts the environment outnumber the cryptobros, even if the cryptobros are incredibly vocal about their viewpoint.

  this post is absolutely right, and while i will be very torn about having to find a new platform, i would rather NOT have a company that deals in shady things like this involved in my daily interactions as heavily as discord is, considering i do use it every day to talk to my friends.
