Crypto Integration talk made me cancel Nitro.

I refuse to further monetarily support a platform that aims to bring more eyes to cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
The feedback left by others speaks clearly, and as an artist myself I have witnessed the amount of scams and theft running in these circles.
There are several servers on Discord perpetuating these scams, art theft, grifts and money laundering, and it is an interesting move to lean into it further in hopes that the crypto bubble will be more profitable and not pop instead.
I am immensely disappointed not only in Discord, but in myself for trusting the company to keep it's monetization in reasonable levels, and to have enough common sense for me to lend a subscription fee.
While I will continue using Discord for the time being, I will actively look for alternatives in case the app will use crypto in the future.

PS.
It is also clear that this will most likely fall on deaf ears. You knew this would happen. The deal on Nitro you were pushing for many before this information started to float about is clear indication of that. Just one more wallet squeeze before betraying trust.
Jason Citron should resign from his position of CEO.

    Wholeheartedly agree w/you on this. I cancelled my Nitro, and a number of my friends did so as well after I sent them Jason's tweets teasing NFT integration. I have other means of communicating, and I'm not even above just going back to texting via groupchats or skype, if necessary, though I'd certainly prefer not to. It's sad to see discord stoop this low. 

    I agree that it certainly looks like Jason, the shareholders, and board members will ignore the backlash as of this moment. Especially since Jason is still on twitter interacting with pro-NFT integration tweets, and ignoring any negative but constructive responses AND some employees were not even aware of the NFT integration plans prior to his twitter activity. I truly feel bad for everyone who helped build discord into the lovely chat service we have today only to see all the company's good will get tossed out in an instant in favor of environmental destruction just for some extra CEO money now.
