NFTs and Cryptocurrency are environmentally ruinous

As a result of Discord planning to add cryptocurrency and NFT integration I have cancelled my Nitro subscription, at least until such time as Discord makes a definitive decision not to go through with this development.

Cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, and NFTs, which are integrated into those blockchains, are a significant extra strain on the planet's already declining climate. Furthermore, cryptocurrency and NFTs are badly implemented to the point of being essentially useless compared to other, less harmful technologies. And that's not even mentioning the absolutely *rampant* trends of grifting, scamming, money laundering and copyright infringement these technologies currently lend themselves to.

Please reconsider.
