Maybe if you learned about crypto instead of repeating nonsense you read on twitter you wouldn't ask questions.

Pineapple Pizza, my sentiments exactly.  They're being astonishingly blind, and this move is nothing short of shocking.

@Prethor - nah, I was much more interested in crypto before I learned anything about it. If it weren't such an obvious pyramid scheme scam with the added bonus of being horrifically wasteful, you lot wouldn't need to jump into every single question or discussion on the topic "educating" random strangers by berating them for not liking the thing you want them to like. None of you ever actually explain what we're getting wrong, just accuse us of not understanding stuff. Why? Because we understand perfectly, you just don't like it when your scam is lain bare.

Prethor we aren't stupid. i can't speak for everybody but I personally grew up around computers, and still remember using Netscape Navigator when I was like 5 years old. I've been online long enough to know a scam or at least a blatant get-rich-quick scheme, and NFTs are exactly this. Even if we forget the extreme energy consumption caused by mining certain types of cryptocurrency, the whole concept of NFTs is incredibly stupid on the outset. Hundreds of NFTs have been exit scammed by their creators, thousands of people buy into the promise of an appreciating asset that never appreciates, and literally every person on Twitter I've seen who brags about their profits is literally ONLY tweeting about that, which makes them look like total sockpuppets intended to generate a bigger bubble to exit scam on.

Besides, I'd much rather spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars paying an actual artist at industry rates to create art that I tell them to make on traditional media that can then be sent to me. Will it have any resale value? probably not, but I like art for art's sake. I'm not some money laundering millionaire who sees art as a financial asset.
