Events and Roles upgrade
Dear Discord Team,
I immediately noticed that Events are a thing. Let me say, they already feel amazing but they are still very restricted on their functionalities, so i thought of some way to make them better.
1: Split the current "Manage Events" role in "Manage Events" and "Create Events". The latter would be able to create new events and only modify the ones they created, while the former would be a high level permission and would be able to modify all events in the Server.
2: Make it possible to create repeating events, maybe even being able to choose which days of the week if you are making a weekly thing. Or not. We could always make more than one weekly event if necessary.
3: Related to repeated events: Make us able to forfeit/resume an event instance. This would make sure people don't get notified of a repeating event if one of its instances gets cancelled for whatever reason, but it wouldn't get rid of the whole event.
4: Making it so that you can add a single role to your event so that all of the people that have that role gets automatically subscribed to it. Only ONE per event. You can of course only do this to a role lower than your highest "Create Events" or "Manage Events" permission in the list, and they can still unsubscribe at any time. They are just "default subscribed" when they obtain the role from then on.
I think these would be amazing changes and would be able to make the Event feature a lot more appealing and flexible.

I miss these features as well, plus I think it would be cool if you could make events visible only to certain groups.

Yeah, that too. I tried it out for my roleplay group and, as much as it is a really cool feature, i also felt like being able to do all these things would help me a lot. I could set my players as "subscribed by default" and i wouldn't have to create a new event every week. Plus if any session is cancelled i could just make the event not trigger for that single week. I can see it being very useful for roleplay groups, periodic meetings, tournaments, EGames training sessions, study groups that meet periodically... It would be an extremely powerful tool.
And while we're at it, a button to switch the event off without deleting it altogether would also help, for managing prolonged pauses in any of these things.1
