Global environment variables not set!

Why do I get this message instead of the board itself and what can I do to set things back to normal?

  Just today started having the same issue. Opening discord website, getting "Global environment variables not set!", and the site interface itself doesn't show, just a white screen instead. The site icon on the tab does show though. This did not happen for me before today. This is what it looks like https://i.imgur.com/cLXDI3J.png. I have noticed that it only happens if you try to open a channel directly from a url. The temporary workaround that worked for me is opening discord homepage through discord.com. Hoping this will get fixed though.
