Voice Issues

I and my wife both use discord and the same servers for gaming with friends..  Here recently within the last few months whenever we are in the same server on the same voice channel we happen to encounter voice issues. for instance, they can all hear me speaking but I cannot hear them. or i can hear them speaking but they cannot hear me. this happens to both of us. we have many friends with multiple people on the same router in the same channels that do not experience this issue. Is there something I can do to fix this issue?  She is connected to our router wirelessly and I am hard wired into the router.
