Feature Request - add «shared post» for several people to edit the same post
New feature wanted! shared post between a certain role or people.
Standard post as it is today must always be the default type, to keep your personal posts safe from being edited by someone else.
«Shared post» must be a selection you do with intent i.e. after a post is created. And to fulfill that change from standard personal post to a shared post, one must select what role(s) or people should be allowed to edit the shared post.
a shared post must not show the name of the person first created the post, but rather the last that edited that post. Or just simply info about this being a shared post from the server, or the roles that have been given access to edit the shared post.
Why «shared post» is so important:
There are many big servers with multiple moderators around, and some posts are rules, welcome messages, and common posts that sometimes need to be updated. And if the person that created that post is away, the post cannot be updated until that person is back. Having the opportunity to change post type to «shared post» to let others edit that post would be a very good feature to include.

Anyone having several moderators will see the need for this - vote the main post up if you'd like to see this feature in a future discord update.

I like this idea, it would be a really useful feature to have. Thanks for your advice, I support it.
Dear Discord Team, «shared post» is going to be a brilliant feature for the Discord community.
Thanks for your help.0 -

This would also be useful for sharing documents. I'm running a DnD game where there is a large shared inventory that I keep track of in a text channel post. Letting players add and remove things would be handy, and seeing an edit history would be a bonus.

This is vital, I run a server where we schedule games - several mods need to be able to access the fixtures post, the current workaround is using Message Manager, which is a massive PITA to use and almost impossible via a phone

I was just about to make a feature request myself, until I saw this one.
Some handy use cases would be To Do lists shared with people, so they can tick off any task without having to ask the original poster. Or for servers, a rules message the Administrators can edit

This would be a great feature to have. We have several posts that have to be updated weekly. Occasionally the posting moderator may be unavailable or mia. We'd like these posts to retain their position in the designated channels that contain guides or important instructions. If the managing moderator isn't reachable or away for an extended period the entire contents of the channel has to be recreated.

Thinking about this again, I think a clear way to not confuse people with who sent/edited the post would be to have it separated by Roles. Then you could send a message as a certain role, that would also show the role sent the message instead of a specific user. Then anyone having that role can edit it and maybe even view who edited the message for security.
It would also be very intuitive for readers of the message to see for example "Admins" sent a message instead of some random person

this post was created 6 month ago .. that would be great to have some attention on that, as this is really helpful for community maintainers

Just found my way here as someone who is now working for an old boss/friend as moderator in their Discord server. It would be extremely helpful to be able to edit/modify messages that they've posted, especially as they pertain to rules or channel descriptions, and having a shared message/post type would solve this problem. As it is right now, I will have to copy and make a new message, which they will one day need to replicate if they want to make changes but I no longer work for the group.

Marking channels as shared via permissions would be great. Needed for more effective collaboration.

We need this feature so badly. I manage an online in-game venue in FFXIV. Sometimes I need to make lists of people who are banned from the venue or who are added to the VIP list. When I’m not around, I would like my other head staff and co-owner to be able to edit these list posts in real-time so this doesn’t need to wait until I’m available. Please implement this feature.

3 years later and still nothing similar to this idea. I wish they make this any time soon. Should not be that hard to add a make shared post button with options with, what, why, who and so on.
