Implementation of a backup voice program for server owners in case of services outages
I know it seems rare, but it almost ALWAYS happens at the most inconvenient time, that there are voice outages that we are not able to do anything with. Now, coming from someone who has their own fully licensed teamspeak server for YEARS before discord's existence, never experienced outages or down time in the community's main voice and text hub because of the internet of things model still ends up failing somehow.
For one to spend as much as you ask for, still even after lowering the boost requirements I've come to find, the least you guys could do is give us some sort of command-line backup voice server that we are able to sync with our discord server and is able to stand in for the cloud servers when they are down and unable to be contacted. I mean, it would be nice and cool in the least. I'm not looking to rant but to explain why I'm requesting this as a feature.
I'm not asking for full-feature sets; just a current user list and role sync and permissions structure ability without all the bells and whistles that you are normally to be able to like assign/create/manage roles or stream video. All that is unnecessary for such short interruptions, but would allow for those interruptions to be eased by allowing users to still communicate thus causing the outages to go by barely noticed. A few disconnect/reconnect attempts to recognize the outage and then check with the backup voice server if it sees an outage and if it also sees it after so much time, then allows the user to connect until services are restored and stable.
