Text in Voice Feedback
I AM SO HAPPY THAT THIS IS FINALLY HAPPENING.
It has been a bit of a hastle for a long time whenever there is a voice chat and you need to message in it. I am extremely happy that we can finally have text chats married to voice chats. However, I have some early feedback that might assist in making these better.
1) Accessing text in voice:
I am quite confused by the way one accesses the chat. There is a tiny button that you press on the chat itself that brings you to a strangely placed chat that is compressed and does not look great. On mobile, you have to press on the voice channel, then press a button in the corner to open it up. This UI design kinda incentivizes this system to not be used. This leads me into my next point
2) Text in Voice should act like a regular text channel
As the text in voice currently stands, it is a thread that exists in an awkward corner of the screen with no option to receive notifications. This means that the text in voice is currently less functional and less visually appealing than the regular channels that we have already created for voice channels. I think that the solution here is quite simple: text in voice should act like a regular text channel. There should be the option for notifications, there should be an option to mute it, it should be possible to create threads off of it, it should operate exactly like the text channels that already exist, but it should be visually (and with permissions) tied to the voice channel. In discussions that I have had with members of my own discord community, it is nearly a universal complaint that the current implementation is not good enough to switch to.
3) It does not look great
The next biggest complaint that I have is that it does not look very good. I have mentioned it a few times already, but it is unavoidable. The chat comes over the screen in a bad way. It is also on the wrong side of the screen. The chat should be on the left. But even better, the text in voice should not be its own window. It should, like I said before, not even be a window. It should act like a regular chat. The problem exists even if you pop out. It just puts the window on top of all of the people.
I have been wanting text for voice for a long time. But what I have always wanted was to have a chat that sits right next to a voice, or even better, is coupled to it. It feels like that's what a lot of people also want, and I feel that it would be well received by all if that was the case.

Agreed. The inability to know anything that happened unless you always remember to check the chat is really frustrating, as if it was better implemented it could completely remove the need for separate vc text channels, it feels like was set up to be too complicated.

We should be able to organize where we can put the Text or the Voice if they're going to be together.
Option 1: Voice at the LEFT and Text at the RIGHT;
Option 2: Voice at the RIGHT and Text at the LEFT;
Option 3: Voice at the TOP and Text at the BOTTOM;
Option 4: Voice at the BOTTOM and Text at the TOP.
Of course all these options available with the option to hide either Voice or Text, it's just weird if I have to open a text channel and there's no one using the voice channel and it still opens but it's empty and I can't hide it, while I can do that with the text, just let us decide which one to stay open, and maybe make the Text the default and we can choose if we want the Voice as the option we want to stay open.

i agree with the first 2 complaints,
been waiting for this feature sins we moved over form teamspeak with our comunety,
an other problem i foundout today is the permissions of the text chat dont run like they are set
-we have a streaming channel that people cant just join by them self. i have the settings for the voice chat set to people can read and chat in them, but because they arent able to join the voice chat them self, some of them get an error and others dont even see the button for the chat0
