"You must verify your account" should be changed to "You must verify your email address"

When attempting to sign in to a third party app via oauth, if a user has not verified their email address, they are told they must verify their account. What they aren't told is that they need to verify their email, so I get questions frequently about what someone needs to do. Instead a user should be told directly the action they need to take.

    what did you use to make the discord account? email

    how else would you verify your account? email and or phone number.
    every user knows this, even my 8 year old sister knows how to make an account, and verify, and she isn't even allowed to own her own email address or discord acc.
    i do not think people spamming you are actually 5, because to verify, if they press there profile you will find in red VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADRESS

    You would think people would get this, but many don't.

    It's more of an issue with email-less guest accounts (because those still exist for some reason I cannot fathom, and they neglect to even ask for an email address at registration for those unless you hit the bot check, or explicitly logging out - which few people do) which are a problem in of themselves. Really Discord should ask for an email address upfront for those too, but a small text change would suffice in the meantime.

    That said I have seen people ask what they need to do all the while the phone verification banner is at the bottom of their screen, so maybe they're just hopeless.

    And to be further clear, the OAuth authorization screen does not actually provide any indicator, nor does it link to account settings. It's not like the server banner where there is obvious context for the user, as clicking any button on the page will not achieve the desired result.

    Cancel still redirects you to the third party site, and not you logs you out. There is no direct point of entry or context on the page for the user.

    As such to add on to the topic point, an on-page modal or direct link (probably won't work currently since discord is mostly an spa and settings can't be hotlinked to iirc, and now you have to determine where the user came from and send them back) should allow the user to complete verification.

    I do not know what  OAuth authorization is so i would not have known.
