Quotes display as rich text even when rich text is turned off

I have rich text turned off and have ever since that stupid anti-feature was implemented. Discord recently released an update trying to get slash commands to work with rich text turned off, but they forgot to turn the actual rich text off!! if I type > and then a space, it turns into a rich text quote, which means I can no longer select or edit the text! Please fix this and let me use plain markdown!

    This is still unfixed to today and makes writing messages very difficult.

    This is an actual nightmare. A minor one. but every time the > gets replaced by the preview it's irritating all over again.

    It appears that this can be worked around in the short-term by enabling "Accessibility > Use the legacy chat input" in settings. This will still not support slash commands, but it removes the stupid rich text features. For now.

    Better than nothing!
