What is Discord's Beta Program?

Discord’s Beta program is how we test new features to help us improve Discord. A small, random group of users gets access to a beta feature so we can gather feedback and see how it performs in the real world. The feature may move toward a wider release. If it doesn't, it may change significantly or be discontinued.

How Beta Eligibility Works

• Beta features are given to a small, randomly selected group of users for testing. It's not something you can request or sign up for.
• Support can't manually add users to a beta or override targeting criteria.
• Having access to one beta doesn't mean you'll have access to others.
• Beta access can be removed at any time, including if the experiment ends or the feature doesn't move forward.

How to Check if You Have a Beta feature

If you're one of the users who has access to a beta, you'll see a label indicating that the feature is in beta. For example, you may see a popover in Discord, along with a beta tag next to the feature.

Active Beta Features

• Favorites: users can favorite certain channels on Discord and keep the conversations that matter most at their fingertips.
• Bookmarks: users can bookmark the messages they care about most and return to them later.
