Custom Themes
-
In my opinion user shouldn't have acess to CSS fo discord directly
I'd love to see themestore though, where for few cents you could get some custom theme. Or even for free.
I remember ome of devs mentioning that theme store was planned but without any specifics in Discord Feedback server0 -
it’s a good thing you don’t have it, as client mods are against ToS 0 -
i feel like this could be changed, for us having a little click showdown thing like when you are selecting word fonts in a Word document.

I want a dark dark mode that isn't gray but black, maybe even AMOLED or in a similar manner of Facebook Messenger's dark mode.

So like, a fancy pants editor, rather than the current markdown?

I don't know about colors (I wouldn't mind) but I believe having buttons to change the font style (bold/italic/strike-through/superscript) is going to be very helpful!

This is a great idea, but adding images for themes would also be amazing.

what about adding an option to customize the themes ourselves??? like a customization app inside the discord one for both browser and the app itself? would be cool

yes

I do not think anything client side i.e. css themes should be paid. I think users should be able to make their own themes and also add custom backgrounds I think the way to combat malware is to make all theme packages need to be signed in order to be used and a special setting to enable unsigned themes only if the user is willing to take the risk

Yeah, color customization for Discord themes would be pretty cool.

I was thinking the same thing!

Have a look at BetterDiscord. It's discord, but with editable css, so you can add themes and plugins. I'm using BandageBD (the most recent version of BetterDiscord) with the editable NEUTRON X theme, and it work fine.

i dont care about the plugins but i want custom css themeing natively supported. It mean it would be amazing to see that implemented into discord.

I'm sure it will be a paid feature =-=

The $50 a year is ridiculous for what you get, even adding custom themes to that package wouldn't tempt me into getting Nitro.
0 -
@Lucasamiel406 doubt it, client theming is already client-side, there are already plugins that do it, therefor people wouldn't pay for it
0 -
@Oofbekistan custom backgronds too
0 -
@Lucasamiel406 will you pay for Nitro Just for Themes or continue using Better Discord? I use Discord mostly from the browser so I don't need it
0 -
@Toothless Neo @Lucasamiel406 better discord is against TOS
0 -
@Illuminatzz* And yes, Better Discord is against ToS, but why Better Discord creators have a server and a lot of plugins there?
If you don't abuse API or do some shit, it's """okay"""0 -
People use something called Stylish for the Browser to theme Websites themself.
SO i guess its not banable since nothing is changed to its client directly.0 -

@cascade Stylish and similar are considered client mods under discord TOS
0 -
Yes! Time to spend a year developing a feature that 1% of people will use! Great idea!

@ks we know people have already said in this chat
0 -
Ooh, I love this idea

Discord does need to embrace BetterDiscord...It would be a lot better.
0 -
"Because BetterDiscord themes often contains malware", where did you get that? Themes will always be in CSS or SCSS, other way it wouldn't make any sense because CSS and SCSS are standards for styling
