How to add a words to Spellcheck
Did you accidentally add a word to Spellcheck? Since the spellchecker is based on the dictionary in your computer’s system, you’ll need to go into your computer’s settings to remove the word.
If a word is getting flagged by the Spellcheck, you can add the word to your dictionary.
1. To do this, after the squiggle appears under the word indicating the spelling needs to be checked, right-click and tap on Add to Dictionary.
2. Now the word is in your dictionary!
How to disable Spellcheck
While using the desktop app, if at any point you want to turn off the Spellcheck, all you have to do is right-click on a chat window and uncheck the Spellcheck box.
To enable it again, simply follow the same steps above and make sure the box next to Spellcheck has a check mark.
How to set your language
Spellcheck is based on the language of your system and Discord. If your system is a different language than your Discord app, it may flag words that are spelled correctly. Here are some steps on how to set your language on your device.
Windows
1. Open up Language settings on your system.
2. You’ll see an option to not only set your Windows display language, but any additional preferred languages.
3. After adding additional preferred languages you’ll be prompted to install a language pack for each one. Once completed, you can change your Windows display language.
macOS
1. Go to your Keyboard settings then Text Input.
2. Here you can set your language preference and add any additional languages by tapping on the plus (+).
3. After you finish adding any additional languages, you can tap on Done.
