Let me innnnnnn! You finally got an invite to a server, but you’re getting hit with an error message and can’t join. What does it mean? Why can’t you join? Let’s go over the possible error messages that you might see, what they mean, and what you can do if you’re seeing them.
Invalid Error Messages
Unknown/Expired Invite: Your invite link may have expired. In this case, please ask for a new invite link.
Invalid: You may not have a legitimate invite code. Please check the code again or ask for a new invite link. Remember too, codes are case sensitive.
100 Server Limit: A user cannot be a member of more than 100 servers. If you are in too many servers, you'll need to leave one before you can join.
If you have Discord Nitro you can join up to 200 servers! If you join over 100 servers while your Nitro is active, and then your Nitro expires, you’ll have to leave enough servers until you’re below 100 to join more.
Banned: You may have been banned from joining this server. Server bans are based on IP addresses, so you would need to contact the server admins and ask them to revoke all bans in their Server Settings.
