Profile badges are the small icons on your profile that show off what you've done on Discord, from boosting servers to completing Quests. This article explains where to find your badges, what badge rarity means, and how to choose which badges appear on your profile.

The Badge Directory
The Badge Directory is your home base for profile badges. It shows you everything in one place:
- The badges you've already unlocked
- The badges that are available to earn
- How to earn each badge
You can also learn about badges you spot on other people's profiles. Hover a badge on someone's profile to see more about it. Select each to find out how to earn it yourself.
How to Open the Badge Directory
Option 1: From a desktop or mobile profile
1. Open your profile or someone else's profile.
2. Select any badge (the icons next to the username) to open the Badge Directory.
If you're on your own Edit Profile screen, selecting a badge opens the Badge Customization panel instead. From there, select View Badges to go to the Badge Directory.
Option 2: From the desktop account popout
1. Select the You Bar at the bottom of the left sidebar.
2. Select Badges to open the Badge Directory.
Option 3: From the mobile You Bar
1. Tap the You Bar at the bottom of the app.
2. Tap the row of badges below your username to open the Badge Directory.
Badge Rarity
Every badge has a rarity: Common, Rare, Epic, or Mythic. Rarity shows how likely you are to come across other users with that badge on Discord. You'll see Common badges often, while Mythic badges are held by very few people.
Some badges evolve, which means they level up as you reach new milestones. Each level of an evolving badge can have its own rarity, so the same badge might be Common at its first level and Mythic at its highest.
Managing Your Badges
Once you've earned a few badges, you can choose how they appear on your profile. Everyone can hide badges, and Nitro subscribers can also reorder them.
Display Slots
Your profile displays up to six badges in its display slots. New badges that you earn and badges that you level up will be placed into your badge display slots by default. Additional badges that you've earned are kept in your Badge Directory, so visitors to your profile can still see everything you've unlocked.
Hiding a Badge
You can hide eligible badges you've earned so they don't appear on your profile.
On Desktop and Browser
1. Select the You Bar at the bottom of the left sidebar. Then, navigate to Edit Profile.
2. Select your Badges in the profile editor.
3. Select Customize Your Badges.
4. Hover over the badge you want to hide and select the three-dot menu.
5. Select Hide Badge.
6. Select Save to confirm.
Hidden badges move to the end of the row and show a small hidden icon so you can find and unhide them later. Other users won't see hidden badges on your profile.
On Mobile
1. Tap the You Bar at the bottom of the app.
2. Tap Edit Profile.
3. Tap Badges to open the Badge Customization panel.

6. Tap Save to confirm.
The badge moves to the end of the row and shows a small hidden icon, so you can still find it in this view later.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I remove a badge from my account?
A: Badges can't be removed from your account, but you can hide any badge so it doesn't appear on your profile. See Hiding a Badge above.
Q: Can I move my badges to a different account?
A: No. Profile badges are non-transferable and stay with the account that earned them.
Q: What happens to my badge order if my Nitro subscription ends?
A: If your Nitro subscription ends, your custom badge order will no longer apply. Your badges will go back to the default order shown for users without Nitro.
Q: Why don't I see a badge I just earned in my display slots?
A: Newly earned badges automatically move to the front of your display slots, so they should appear on your profile right away. If you don't see a badge you expected, try restarting or refreshing your Discord app.
If it still doesn't appear, you may not have met all the requirements to earn it yet. Check Discord Profile Badges: What Each Badge Means for details on how to earn each badge.
Q: Can I hide my Nitro badge?
A: No, Nitro badges are always visible. Nitro badges let others know why your profile looks the way it does, from animated avatars to custom emojis in your status. You can still reorder your badges and hide other badges.
Q: Will Discord add new badges?
A: New badges may be added over time. When they are, you'll find them in your Badge Directory.
