Learn what each Discord profile badge means and how it's unlocked, from the Discord Nitro badge to legacy badges that are no longer available.
What this article covers:
Current Badges
These badges can currently be unlocked. Details for each one are also available in your Badge Directory.
Account Age Badge
The Account Age badge reflects how long your account has existed. It unlocks once your account is a year old and evolves as your account gets older. Once you unlock a level, you won't lose it or drop back to a lower level. The badge evolves as time goes on.
Game Time Badge
The Game Time badge reflects the total time you've spent playing games that Discord can detect. Time across all detected games counts toward the same total, and the badge evolves as that total grows. Unfortunately, games you play on consoles, like Xbox or PlayStation, don't count toward the Game Time badge, since only the Discord desktop app can detect games. Game Time includes time played on or after December 8, 2025. Badge progress may take some time to reflect your recent activity.
To count progress toward these badges, turn on Use data to personalize my Discord experience. Check Data Used to Personalize Discord for details on how to enable this setting.
Game Variety Badge
The Game Variety badge reflects how many different games you've played that Discord recognizes. The badge evolves as that number grows.
Discord recognizes most desktop games automatically, though some very small games may not be detected. Some platforms are tracked as a single game. For example, playing different experiences in Roblox or Fortnite counts as one game.
Games you play on consoles, like Xbox or PlayStation, don't count toward the Game Variety badge. This badge only tracks games detected by the Discord desktop app. Badge progress may take some time to reflect your recent activity.
To count progress toward these badges, turn on Use data to personalize my Discord experience. Check Data Used to Personalize Discord for details on how to enable this setting.

Early Supporter Badge
Before there were two styles of Discord Nitro, there was a legacy version of Nitro Classic. After expanding our Nitro offerings, we granted the Early Supporter badge to anyone who supported us in the early years of Discord as a thank you gift!
Anyone who purchased Nitro at any point before Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 received this badge. Learn more about this badge in our Legacy Nitro Classic FAQ.
HypeSquad Events Badge
Along with the HypeSquad House badges, there was also a HypeSquad Events badge. Users earned this badge by attending an event in the name of HypeSquad. Event Coordinators ran the events themselves, such as organizing a university club or planning a LAN event.
HypeSquad House Badges
In the past, you could earn a HypeSquad House badge by taking a quiz in Discord that sorted you into one of three houses. The quiz is no longer available.
