Lost account because of 2FA
So i recently just got a new phone because my other one was beyond smashed as well as factory reset my computer due to issues, Well while in the process i lost access to my 2fa codes and tried to get in touch with support but it was beyond useless. I understand they cant give me a 2FA code but they have in the past reset it for hacked accounts so why is that not possible now? I mean i have used the same ip adress to log into discord for quite a while now why cant that be used for identification? Not to mention the few password resets WITH at least 2 of the 2fa codes So now i am out of my account along with tons of friends i met over my time of gaming that were strictly on discord because instead of support actually helping you they would just rather delete your account and write you off as a lost cause. This seriously needs to be changed. People have mishaps, just wish support would ACTUALLY support us in trying to get back in to our accounts instead of just telling us there is nothing to do..

I feel ur pain bro I am also in similar situation I updated my phone and due to some error my phone data got corrupted and had to reset it so I lost all the data later I begged discord on email, Facebook, Twitter ETC and all they say is that they will delete my account but will not help recover 😭😭

It just irks me that support for discord has absolutely no way to help identify you in order to help get you back into your account? I mean come on now, They use to reset 2FA for hacked accounts but now when someone makes a mistake its worthless to even attempt to get any assistance. Just makes absolutely no sense to me. As I said there are so many ways you can go about identifying the account owner but they would rather copy and paste responses and do jack for people, The little effort is bull. Why have support to begin with if that's the case?

Do u think discord reads these posts cause I don't think so and yet when u give them 1 star on Google play store they tell u to post here and I have seen multiple posts about the same problem

If you enabled, "Enable SMS Backup Authentication" or if you keep your backup codes in your cloud storage, you can recover your account.

Fyy That does not work at all. Tried it myself with no success, so now my account is also unrecoverable like OP's. Discord's support is clearly doing a terrible job.

Tim I also tried pressuring support to help me recover my account, but they wouldn't budge at all. If Discord's support cannot be actually helpful and accounts are proven lost forever, then it's a good time to start letting others know about this and begin filing a class-action lawsuit against Discord. Their repeated inaction with their inadequate support is becoming far too much to ignore.

Smashed or not, You can still keep your old phone number on your new phone.

Discords entire login system is messed up. They need to rebuild it from scratch and migrate users accounts securely to the new accounts. There is absolutely no excuse for this shoddy user experience just to get into an account. Every other website out there... Google, Apple, Facebook has this part figured out. There is practically an Industry Standard for creating accounts and logging in that Discord completely ignores. And yet, according to them, they get hacked, and are seeing 'unusual behavior' more than ever. Whatever they're doing is not working.

My account recently got tagged and I don't have a phone to verify it with so I am locked out until I can get my mother to verify HER number to my account.

Same thing happened with me 2 times. At first when my phone was stolen then i lost account but it didnt bother me but this time when i lost my account then i ask for support but they simply said that delete you account it is useless and i said that ask me anything that you can trust me but they simply said delete your account and i m not sure that how i will transfer ownership of my servers
