Less DM Protection Suggestion

I would love a setting where you can allow DMs from people who aren't friends with you AND who dont share a server with you. Someone was kicked from my server for unknown reasons and they cant seem to get back in, so I'd love to be able to DM them to figure out what's going on. The default could be the protection option, but I'd love to be able to turn that protection off. I don't accept friends requests often so that people can't call me randomly, but I'd love thr option to have anyone's DMs go through to me.
