If I hadn't already cancelled my Nitro over the NFT stunt you tried to pull, I definitely would have now. This is the absolute worst change a messaging site could make. And I must stress: not social media, MESSAGING SITE. User privacy exists for a reason, so stop treating this platform like it's supposed to be Twitter, especially when Twitter is spiraling down the drain.

As someone with memory issues, I can absolutely say that the current username system is perfect. If I can remember a phone number, which is an entire ELEVEN digits, if I can remember a license plate that is seven alphanumerical symbols, then I can remember a fucking four digit discriminator just fine. I don't need to remember the username because it's the exact username I wanted, and also thanks to the discriminator, I don't need to worry about random bots trying to follow me nearly as much, because they can only find me through servers. Even picking users at random is harder for bots, because 99% of the time, they'd pick a random discriminator that just leads to a non-existent account, and non-alphanumeric symbols further prevent bot friend requests.

I must stress this again:

DISCORD IS NOT A SOCIAL MEDIA. THIS IS A MESSAGING PLATFORM. RANDOM USERS SHOULD NOT BE TRYING TO FIND ME BY MY USERNAME TO FRIEND ME. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE A FRIENDS LIST, NOT A FOLLOWERS LIST.
