Untie slash-command help text from 'preview emojis, mentions and markdown syntax as you type' setting
I like the preview of markdown like spoiler tags, italics and similar in the message box.
I don't like a chunk of text being inserted into what I'm trying to type, for slash commands. As an example, typing /me now adds in a chunk saying 'message' after which you're supposed to type whatever it should apply to, and if I try to remove the chunk saying 'message' and type something, it won't let the command go through. This feature looks like it should be cosmetic, but it isn't.
It doesn't add anything for me, and it's annoying to see the cursor shunted around. However, I like the other functionality of previewing markup syntax, emojis and so forth. Can you split that behaviour apart from the autocomplete/'help' syntax text for slash commands?

Just encountered this today with a /me command. It was VERY jarring to have my typing obscured(or filled in) with a bunch of text I did not type. The command search box over it was acceptable, but this feature in its current form is extremely disorienting for me.

I -loathe- this feature. It obscures text - particularly on mobile. It erases parts of my message and after the first few uses I know the command so why on earth is it still telling me? Please allow this to be disabled.

I came to suggest this today, and when I searched to see if anyone had already suggested it, I found a handful of suggestions with only a couple votes each. I highly recommend we all focus our attention on one, and I suggest: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/1500000840642-Make-slash-commands-and-emoji-mention-markdown-previews-separate-toggles because it currently has the most upvotes. Also, as all of these suggestions range from a year to six months old, please consider asking people you know to upvote it as well. Discord isn't going to consider this unless we drive some attention to the issue, but quite frankly this breaks usability in a lot of ways.
I personally find it makes formatting my messages the way I *want* them formatted much harder, since the assumptions the preview makes are often counter what I need, and because of the way it enables the previews, it makes it harder for me to correct it. But I don't want to cut off my access to the slash commands either (especially since my friend who codes the bot I use on two of my servers finally was able to upgrade their bot to make use of slash commands).0
