You may only mention a @role if you have that/said role
I don't know how this keeps being confused by the staff on this site
It's like they're aren't even trying to figure out what we want
They keep closing everything that asks about this feature and calling it a "dupe" to this
https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360029303491-Allow-mentions-to-be-used-only-by-specific-roles
(This is the post that they are calling a dupe, the link to dupe is in their answer on this post)
I'll try to make the exact point stand out for them here
===============================================
If you HAVE @role then you may ping @role
If you DO NOT have @role then you MAY NOT ping @role
===============================================
This is what we want, there is also the wanted variant where a mod/admin is the only one that can mention the role
(That is what they keep referring to when saying the feature has already been added)
My exact situation is that I'd like a role for regular/students/etc
And ONLY THEY can mention it (exceptions should b obvious)
There are so many reasons and examples why this would be a wanted feature
(anti-raid, anti-spam, organization in a big server)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason their suggested feature doesn't fit this need is because either EVERYONE can ping ALL ROLES
Or @role can ping ALL ROLES
(I only want them to be able to ping the roles they have)

I have pinged you because I think you also wanted a similar feature
If not, then please accept my apologies for mistaking you
