More options for trust and safety
A server of mine keeps being raided by people stealing members’ private information to post to places other than discord. They’re hard to track, use throwaway accounts, we already have tight verification set up to be let into the server. There’s just not much we can do. I don’t even know if Discord itself would have more luck but at least they could check to see if the ip address of someone in the server is the same ip address as someone banned. It would also be nice if they had a way to look into people stealing screenshots from servers so we can better protect our members. We appreciate all that discord does to protect our servers from things that happen on discord but it’s hard to protect it when things are getting posted to other sites. Maybe a way for us to ban ip addresses when we ban members (could make it automatic) so that they can’t ban evade in our servers. Obviously, it wouldn’t be full proof and obviously if you don’t know who’s posting things elsewhere then you can’t exactly ban them but at least it would be some added security. We don’t even have to see the ip addresses as long as it gets banned. Also, please look into some way to know when someone has screenshotted a server. I realise that, yes, there are ways to get around this but it would again be just that little bit of extra security. Hopefully there’s ways to patch things along the way so there are less and less ways to get around this.
Also the “more options for trust and safety” refers to letting us report to discord when someone has stolen screenshots where we can provide the url of where it’s posted to and the message ids of what has been taken. Thank you.
