Hide Personal Information (Privacy & Safety)
Basically "Streamer Mode", but re-titled for Privacy & Safety.
Use Case:
User wants to have personal information in their profile (avatar, connections), but hide it from specific users (large servers, strangers).
Solutions:
Currently, I think Discord friends can see information that is supposed to be hidden by Streamer Mode. I don't think this is mentioned in the 101 page, or the settings in-app, but moving forward assuming it works that way.
Streamer Mode makes sense as a solution for streamers, but the user mentioned above may not think to use it, or it may not fit exact needs. Users should be able to toggle specific things to hide on their public profile at all times, rather than enabling a mode. Streamer Mode seems more of a subset of the proposed feature/change.
This could easily just be a re-branding of Streamer Mode. There are still some enhancements that could be made and seem necessary. Hiding icon from non-friends seems like an option that should exist for users who use headshots as their avatar.
Toggles for "Hide X from users who aren't your friends":
- Avatar
- Mutual Server/Friends
- Personal Information (same as streamer mode, but individual options as well, listed below)
- Connected Accounts
- Notes
- Anonymize Number Tags
