Moderation Setting: Account Age Requirement
I run a small-medium size community Discord with around 5000 members. It's incredibly active, and unfortunately incredibly prone to trolls.
I learned quickly that 99% of these troll accounts were fresh, <10 minute old Discord accounts. Nobody would troll on their main account, they'd go and create a 2nd Discord account as to prevent themselves being banned.
We quickly created a custom bot that would instantly ban any Discord accounts attempting to join that were newer than an account age that we specified.
In the 6 months or so since then, trolling has been reduced to ZERO! This was the single best thing that we've ever implemented, and I think it absolutely needs to be incorporated into the built-in Server Moderation settings.
The age requirement could be customised by the admins of each server, as obviously different communities will have a different number of users that are new to Discord. In our case, we've experienced close to 0 false positives over the last 6 months, with a 90 day account age requirement.
A simple change/implementation, but one that turned our admin duties from a full time job to almost zero.
