got my account disabled for a giant misunderstanding
I noticed unauthorized purchases on my account, so I changed my password, and made a report to discord. it had been 4 days without reply and I really needed this to be solved, so I messaged PayPal who started an investigation so I can get my money back, after which I was banned. this could be very easily solved, the purchases were 2 discord nitro gifts that I have not used, so if you were to just remove those from the account and refund my card, then the issue would just be done and over with. I have a ton of old contacts that I will be unable to reach if no unbanned.

I don't know a lot about the discord billing or the support but they are supposed to reply to your email. If you sent an email a bot would said that they have received the email and they are working on it, and if it said that and they haven't reply. Then email them again. I hope everything is settled.

I'll take an educated guess and say you're probably not getting unbanned. What you described is called a chargeback. Further if you read the Discord TOS under the "YOUR ACCOUNT" section, you will find this
"You are responsible for your log-in credentials and for any activity resulting from the use of your log-in credentials or other activity on your account (“Account”) on the Service."
as well as
"You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your log-in credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur through the use of your credentials or otherwise on your Account. You agree to notify us immediately if you believe the confidentiality of your log-in credentials has been compromised or if you suspect unauthorized use of your Account. You agree that we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your credentials."
As far as chargbacks go, getting banned is pretty standard procedure, regardless of the validity of your claims of unauthorized activity. The same thing would happen if you carried out a chargeback on Steam after noticing an unauthorized purchase. If you did this more than 5 days after the purchase occurred, then you were already outside of the window for Discords refund policy for Nitro and Server Boosts.
Most online services will do this if you go over their head when seeking a refund and dispute it with your payment provider. Mainly due to concerns of fraud.0 -
I really appreciate the comment, I understand why I got banned but I do feel that this could have been really easily avoided if I would have just been told, "hey we can not refund you because ..." ya know? I prolly should have just waited it out for a response I understand that although I thought they had just tossed my report to the side as it had been 4 days with no response. I thought I might be able to solve the issue faster by talking to my payment provider, I can try to stop the refund and just accept that I won't get that money back, although like you said it doesn't seem I will get unbanned. I would really appreciate it if we could work this out, I would really like to be unbanned as this is just a big misunder standing, I would be willing to even pay a fine or something, thank you.

How long did it take for you to get your account back? I have recently had a similar problem, it's been 4 days and I'm starting to worry.
