Include Self Report Option to Your Own Discord Account
Ever since Discord had removed their option to create a ticket to report a user, I won't be able to report my own account to Discord Trust and Safety. I had been using Discord for a little under 3 years. My first and second year on Discord were very safe. I liked Discord's communities as a whole and made a lot of good connections to grow my future. However, in 2022, Discord Trust and Safety got backlogged on their requests, increasing the time to respond exponentially to each request. It's an ongoing problem and their change to remove the option to change tickets sacrificed the guaranteed moderation to combat the incoming demand of reports.
Users like us need to be responsible and many of us want to take that responsibility. Therefore, I have a solution. We should be able report our own account to notify Trust and Safety that we were aware we did something wrong.
Normally, it sounds stupid. People don't want to be punished. We can delete our messages. But deleting messages would hide the fact we broke Discord's Community Guidelines.
But for reporting ourselves over, Discord can help us how to become a better user. With practice of being a good individual as well as Discord's moderation training, we can become better, and therefore reduces the number of bad actors we have on the platform.
