Feedback on the mobile UI update: Why
Lots of unnecessary changes in this update, but by the far the worst is that swiping right no longer allows me to view a server's members. At the very least it should be a toggle. I find it extremely unintuitive to tap the name of a channel at the top of it instead.
Making the midnight theme clearly available was a great idea, but the modifications to the dark theme make it too high contrast. It was perfect as it was before.
A major bug/issue with the new media tab is that spoilered images are not shown as spoilers within it. This will easily result in users seeing images they don't want to see. Also, the pins list doesn't show images anymore!
The choice between blue and red notifs should also be a toggle at the very least. I find blue ones don't stick out enough; the desaturated red stood out without being glaring.
I don't understand why DMs were moved to a “messages” tab at the bottom. At the very least it's unclear - Discord is a messaging app, all the things on it are messages. I can live with this change but I find it very strange. I'm also not the biggest fan of the new menu icons and don't see why they needed an overhaul, but I can live with that too.
I love how the back button now backs out of menus and such rather than immediately closing the app. That was a great idea. I'm also enjoying the media/links/files tabs as someone who does a lot of rifling through channels for old stuff.

The messages tab at the bottom is especially bad to me; the tabs are small and my fingers are in the way most of the time so they're not easy to see and use. I think I would be about 75% less mad if they had instead implemented a change to make it more like the desktop UI, with the messages tab at the top of the server list—although, that still would make it harder to find messages than it was before the rework.
Swiping left no longer bringing up the member list is also very frustrating. I don't think swiping left was particularly intuitive in the first place (I had trouble explaining it to my parents), but that doesn't mean that tapping the channel name is any more intuitive. If anything, this is something that could have used a separate “members” button at the top of the screen, again much like the desktop app has.

I totally did not even know you were supposed to click the top to get members and pins and stuff. That's so horrible! How am I supposed to work this one-handed???

For convenience, I have linked to every other similar post. Please upvote all of them so Discord pays attention to our thoughts. The new UI is unintuitive and takes out some of my favorite features such as DM's and Servers easily visible in the server tab, and many others, as well as raises some accessibility concerns. Please make an update or revert some changes.
