3 Key Issues with Discord: (Two that enable bullying.)
#1 Email Verification for a new device. One of the worst issues with discord is their security feature. If you're in a hurry, and try to log on you're often left with a message that says verify your new device(even if it's the same device that's being used). This is because internet service providers often switch ip addresses, and discord, as frustrating as it is, cannot understand that it's the same device being used. Sometimes I have to verify my email two times a day. –- There really should be a setting to turn it off.
#2 Blocked users. Another annoying issue with discord is that blocking users does nothing. It reminds of the horrible work gmail has done, in the sense that after you block a person they can still send you emails. This makes it to where sometimes you want to look, only to be bombarded, even if you don't look, with harassment. Discord is the same way. If you block someone in group chat the person can still be present, unhide your messages, and respond to what you've said. Making the feature pointless. In fact, even in severs I have the issue. Only there they'll wait for me to post something when the place is silent, and then pop up and spam the area until my messages are no longer visible. It happens every time. The reason is: This person sees that I have blocked them, and are annoyed by the fact. It's a passive aggressive form of harassment and hate, and would be much easily avoided if when you blocked people they couldn't see your content. Some sites, such as Mewe, have a feature that you can't block group owners, but everyone else, including admins, can be blocked. I understand why it may be hard to do. Maybe, let normal users messages not be seen/detected by anyone else who is blocked, but give admins the power to see messages.
#3 Calls. I've got this one person who likes to verbal joust with me. I delete them/block them, and they appear again with unfiltered hate. Eventually I just let them in, hoping, if it's been a few months, they've gotten better. They never do. They can add me to group chat on one account that's not blocked with their accounts that are blocked and start bullying me through them. When I don't respond and just leave things on read the endless calls begin. I literally have to constantly deny the calls or turn my sound off to prevent from being annoyed by them. Discord needs a way to disable calls for friends/group chat users.
