Verifying account ownership

A while ago I lost my email with no ability to get it back. Obviously I decided to change my discord email for one I do have access to, so that I don't lose my account if I ever get logged out. Sadly discord policy is quite stubborn cause no matter how much prove I give for owning account (phone number, screenshots, etc.) I get hit with “We can't verify your account ownership without your email". Well damn discord, how am I supposed to verify my email which the only reason I want to change is because I lost it. I've seen few other people having the same problem and I think it's about time to do something about it. Things happen, people can loose their emails for many reasons, and having only one way to verify account ownership doesn't make much sense.

    I think there needs to be a way for phone verification to be used to gain access back to your account. My phone is linked to my account, but even when I verify it, the email itself belongs to my hacker. If I want to reset my password via phone which had been registered, I should be able to and use a ticket provided from here to confirm if my account was hacked. These hackers are awful and they get you by fear, coercion, or by playing you. I got tricked by a hacked friend under the impression that they wrongfully reported me.

    bro yes discord needs to listen to this and also needs to start responding to its community more i dont want to lose my account when its really just an easy fix

    For Gmail, maybe it's possible you might get in contact with a representative of that account? Maybe they can help verify your account
