[Suggestion] Discord Support should prioritize addressing possible false-flags to stop hurting legitimate users.

    I am in the same boat here. It is coming up to a week since my account was suspended for being underage, and I gave them photographic ID 5 days ago and I have had 0 response from them.

    My account was made in 2016, I highly doubt that I would've made a Discord account when I was 4 years old. If they used a bit of common sense by clicking on my verified connections such as YouTube, Twitch etc… they'd be able to see by watching videos made by myself that I am in fact 27 years old, not 12.

    Same, i got suspended 3 days ago for spam and/or abusing the platform. I logged in with another device and got suspended 3 sec after that. Nobody response to my ticket and i am not able to reach my discord friends, because i do not know their exact tags and i do not have any other contact possibilities. So in the current state i lost my 8 years old account too.(Created aug 2016). Kinda sad because every communication in the internet is through discord. I hope they got better in this, because i also bought nitro sometimes. They lose customers and we lose our friends and/or “gaming” life

    Exactly. Tons of people “breaking ToS by being underage” would have needed to make their accounts at the age of 4 (according to Discord's automod scripts). I would much prefer Discord not automatically ban people for such nonsense, but even if they do feel the need to play it “extra safe”, it shouldn't take weeks to fix the issue that they caused. This is terrible service and is disrupting my ability to run one of my businesses which primarily operate on Discord.

    If the support service takes so long that my account gets banned and I lose my servers and bots…
    …as well as my 8 years of Nitro and other badges that I'm proud of…

    …I think my friends and business will go elsewhere. I'm not using a platform that randomly wrongfully bans you and does nothing about it. Fingers crossed they fix the auto-ban issue and catch up with helping the people wrongfully banned.

    Yeah, but I have an feeling that stuff like this will happen again as soon as they integrate an new AI for content moderation

    It's unfortunate if it happens to more people, but at least for those of us who have already gone through verification, it shouldn't happen again.

    I would have much preferred verifying my account 8 years ago if I knew this was something they were going to do. I would have gladly submitted them proof well before they tried to claim I was a 3 years old using the account I made 8 years ago.

  • Yeah two of my accounts got disabled for spam/scam when all I do is game. And my main account that I’ve had for 6 years has my gaming friends on it and all the gaming servers that I’m in which were a lot. I’ve created tickets and even a help and support ticket since I’ve gotten no response for the appeal ones. And within minutes someone responds to the help and support ticket only to tell me to go make an appeal ticket. Where as for my appeal ticket one says solved already even though no one has talked to me

    I still haven't even had someone assigned to my tickets yet (one for age verification, one for reinstating my Nitro which got cancelled when the account was suspended)…

    We've just passed 128 hours of the 24-48 hour wait time Discord says they're support will handle tickets in.

    They're definitely backed up on tickets after whatever they did with the moderation program. They should have run a virtual trial before actually putting this in effect because they would have known they'd get (guessing) 100k-1M flags and 90% of those would be false flags that need support to handle…

    At least Discord allows alternate accounts. Alt account are only against ToS if you are IP banned and this crap they're doing now has nothing to do with IP. I've managed to do some stuff with an alt account but can't access a lot of important things that were exclusive to my main account.

    Extremely frustrated that it's taking this long. I wish they'd just undo all of the suspensions… or at the very least, undo suspensions for people that submit appeals until the appeal is either confirmed or denied.

    edit: The *stuff* I need access to is business stuff, which is why I'm so irritated.

    I understand your frustration. I also have a lot of important stuff on my account where I need access as fast as possible. But sadly we have no other choice than waiting. I'm already waiting for 5 days and have also no one assigned to my ticket or even getting a response (not even from a bot, which I'm glad about because it would deny my appeal).

    I was falsely flagged for logging into the iOS App for example. And my account is already 6 years old, I wouldn't ever even think about breaking their ToS. Discord is the most important platform to me!

    My tickets are still open for 7 days. I also logged into my ipad to share documents via discord and get suspended 3 seconds after seeing my acc 👌Maybe they dont like ios acc. But it would be no problem, if they response to the tickets. It is a shame, that you do not have any possibility to get in contact with them. For a company with millions of dollars of resources and users, they should handle something like that more serios…

    Ticket been open for 10 days.

    8 days since a response. The response was to tell me that they need to see my face with my photographic ID and Discord username.

    I think they're just extremely back-logged. By my estimate, 6-ish days ago, they were getting 10k-20k tickets per day. While they may have been able to keep ticket response times down to 24-48 hours under normal conditions, they've gotten themselves into a pickle here and have way more tickets than expected. It's entirely possible they have 200k or more tickets for this issue alone currently open.

    Crazy. But once your age is verified on your account, it shouldn't happen again. No longer should our 8+ year old accounts be banned for “possibly being made by someone who is 3 years old”.

    Thereclaimer i got suspended for spam and/or abusing the platform 10 days ago. But now they responded to me finally and send me an email to reset my password. I've read here that they take sometimes 100 days to response, but i think unsatisfied customer are louder then the satisfied.

    Enderwahn i am not sure. They said nothing about it. Only that they will let expire my suspension and send me an email with “it seems to be that there are suspicous activities on your account. Please reset your password [link]”. So we will never know. I am glad that they have managed to deal with it

    Given the sudden stop in comments, did people stop getting banned entirely? Or did all of you finally get unbanned?

    I got my account back, but now I'm in the process of getting my Nitro badge back because I had it since 2018.

    I got banned for an different reason. Got told that it was temporary,  but they're ignoring my question on exactly how long my ban is
