Not sure about this suggestion. You can set specific notifications for all the channels you can see in the server. Click on the server name, go to "notification settings", and go down to "Notification overrides", and you can set specific notifications for the channels.

I agree the idea. We can set specific notifications for all the channels ourselves, but can't set "DEFAULT NOTIFICATION SETTINGS" for each.

I wish I could set important channels ON and noisy channels OFF by default. Some users set "Server Mute" ON because of noisy channels.

The default "ALL" is super obnoxious. I'd very much like to change mine to "mention only" and having to do it every single time I join a discord is more work than necessary.

Very useful, aspecially for Announcement channels(@mentions or all messages) and botchannels(notifications OFF)

Definitely, I was about to say that!

I really hope this gets more attention. Please add this to my life already. "@mentions Only" is my preferred default. I imagine this is true for the majority rather than a minority of Discord users.

Add my vote in favor of a global default setting - either the ability to choose the same way as we can per-channel, but in one step, or simply make @mentions the default and let users turn on all notifications in the rare instance that they actually want it

Currently, I have to go through all of the servers I've joined (and I have a lot, at this point) to set them to mentions only, then make sure the specific channels I want more from are set to override. That's not as bad as having to go through every. single. channel - but it would be much more convenient to be able to apply that workflow globally, setting the overall default, then setting server-specific or channel-specific overrides as desired

Having to change the notifications settings for every single new channel that we join is frustrating. How is this not an option?

Is there a way to set a global default for all Discord server notifications yet?

When Highlights and News Event notifications were added I had to go through all my servers and individually turn those off too. It's just too much and I don't have time.

I only want to receive notifications of mentions now and forever and I want that setting as default for all new servers I add or for any new notifications that Discord creates in the future.

    😞
