Disable Friend List Removal on Block
-
I'm sorry, if I block a friend it is because they have done something terrible and I no longer want to associate with them in any way shape or form. I do not want them in my friends list still at all. I want them gone!!!

I would like that. I have a friend I want to block for certain periods because, while I care about them and don't want to break with them wholesale, I do need to block them for a month at a time because if I'm online, they never leave me alone and always talk about their issues in a way that just exhausts me.
A feature where they stay on your friends list so you can speak again if you unblock them would be great!

Ayo -- I know this comment is old but in case you're still in the situation I'd like to say some thingsI think if you even think about needing to block your friend, it's a problem
As everyone says pff: communication is key
If it's hurting you, then you need to talk about it with them -- that's no way to solve it and may hurt them as well seeing you online but not talking with them (and it sounds you're explaining what'd be a confusing feature ? Not sure how that'll work)
Your friendship shouldn't be to the point in which practically all the text are rants N to of which you want to think about blocking them constantly (especially if they don't even really let you in return {which can still be toxic for both sides -- both constantly ranting})
(I def get wanting to have a break in general though -- but if it's in a way that's normal)
There are mute buttons though ?
So you could do that so you can have a break-ish ? But informing them so they don't think the worst
You should be able to be comfortable being online, and anytime a friend text
You may enjoy talking to them in some ways, but if for the most part you get to that point due to issues and not because you yourself are just in a bad mental state, then it's prob best to let it go (unless it can be talked abt as mentioned)
A quote "someone can be good to you -- but not for you"
But yeah -- hope all is gud N that you can solve it a different way rather than that way
