Unlinking a phone number from an account
Hey. I noticed one strange thing here. When I bind my phone number to a discord account.
It throws me away from certain servers. like for example marmok server.
I tried to untie the phone number from the account.
But nothing worked, because in the discord there is no such button as "untie the phone number".
I would be grateful if such a function were introduced into the discord. And as I would like some kind of plush replacement; 3

Yes i have the same issue here i have 2 accounts on discord and my phone is linked to one account but my other one is locked with a message saying I HAVE to verify with a phone number

What horrible support. I cant believe that this has been sitting here for three months without a solution. Terrible, now i am having this same issue and locked out of the app..

Got the exact same Problem, Up to the point, where you can't send messages from the app (that your loged in to) because they require u to verify the email (that u verifyed before) but won't send u a verification mail (since it's the same mail as the second account)

I verified a phone number for my alt accidentally, and now I’m stuck out of my main, I have mutiple servers I own on my main! Discord is so dumb with the safety! Please help ASAP!

I was just tricked into entering my phone number for a server, but Discord made it irreversible and i can not remove my number from my account. Discord did not even make the slightest attempt to make me aware of the fact they were going to do this. It feels so illegal like I have no control over my personal data. I think Discord should lax on the security and allow users control of their sensitive data before the courts hear about this.

why is it a year later but still the same issue and they dont even give an option to log in with your number in case you forgot the email

same problem, this time when I try to remove it, they instantly tell me "somethings going on here" and I need to verify my phone number to even use discord. What sense does this make

I get told that my phone number has been used on another account recently, i'm not sure if it's the same thing but im worried since i can't chat on some discord servers. (i used my phone number on an alt)

pogchamp i had the same issue and to unlink my phone from the alt i had to delete it and a day later I was able to use it on my main. If you do not want to delete your alt, you can also replace the phone number on your alt by linking some other phone number.

I have a similar problem, except I want to remove my phone number from an account that I can't seem to get access to, even after changing the password on it..... and Discord won't let me verify my phone number now because it says that my cell phone number is an "Invalid phone number" so I'd really like to know how to reclaim my phone number for myself and not have it linked to a random account that I can't get access to.

I'm having the same issue. I went onto discord on web browser and it told me to put in my account's name, so I did that. It then asked me to put in my phone number to verify so I followed the steps and noticed that on discord it removed my phone number from my account, so now my phone number is linked to some random account. to top it all off, i can't add the phone number back to my account because the phone number is "invalid".

i cant get back into my discord account cause of the phone verification now i only use it once for my alt but why cant the phone verification be optional. and why use phone number more than once.

the only way to fix it is by adding a different number like I emailed support and all I got was an automated response so if you thinking about going to discord about this issue then stop and don't waste your time.

I needed to do phone verification to my sub account and since there were no other phones I used the same number and my original account was locked. I went to the support team and they told me to add another number or wait because it's timed out. I've been waiting for 1 month, the timeout still hasn't been lifted and there is no other phone number I can add anyway, I don't even have my phone, I used my mother's phone. If I had known the result, I wouldn't have used it. I was hiding some important passwords in my account. God damn it really.Support team don't do shit0 -

I thought I was the only one that had this issue. I accidentally put my phone # to join a server, but didn't realize I was creating a new account, so I cancelled out, then signed back to my main acct to join the server, but then I noticed my phone # was removed. When I try to verify or ADD my phone #, I can't because it's being used by that botched account. Also, I can't find that random acct to delete the phone #, cuz I never finished creating that acct, but my phone # is now stuck with it. WTH??? I don't want to delete my main acct either and start all over, cuz I have a LOT of servers and friends already established there.

What happened to Bruce above, is exacftly what happened to me today. No email to even know what the other account is to access and remove the phone number.

Apparently my phone number is linked to an alt account in which I don’t remember the email or password too. I need that number to verify my real account to log back in. Even if I did manage to get into the other alt account I wouldn’t be able to remove my number from there so I may have to use a friends number or something. currently using a temporary account but this is getting extremely frustrating after emailing support many times, no response. Any help is appreciated!
