The idea is simple. The server owner of a discord channel is able to set certain information as the same way the news tabs are. 

This way, the server admin is able to keep rules for example visible, information about your own upcoming events, able to use your own website RSS feed to show in latest news about the community that they should know about. 

A option to embed YouTube videos, twitch links and other social media and streams to let your users join them and follow them.
