User Ability to Delete Posts, California Consumer Protection Act of 2018
Please add the ability for users to delete their own posts on any server, regardless of whether or not the user is still a member of that server.
According to the California Consumer Protection Act of 2018, Discord must, at users' request, delete information on their servers that might be personally identifiable. This category is not limited to the traditionally accepted definition of address, birthdate, social security number, etc. Instead, it is a very broad category that includes anything that can be associated with the user.
A simple fix would be to allow users to control their past posts (and DMs), regardless of whether or not the user has access to a given server. By creating a mechanism for users to delete their own posts, Discord can comply with California law without increasing the burden on its support staff.
