Make Youtube Membership Integration requirements based on channel monetization!
Hello,
Currently Discord offers integration with Twitch & YouTube in order to change properties of the server like user roles. For Twitch the requirement is that you are an affiliate streamer which is in line with when you would be able to use the features on Twitch's side: Once you unlock subscribers you then unlock the ability to change their role in Discord !
For YouTube, apparently this is not the case. I've contacted support about this and in one instance I was told that I need to be part of YouTube Gaming while another person told me I needed to be verified. Both of these options don't make sense.
1. If the requirement is YouTube gaming partnership you immediately lock out any channel not producing gaming content from the ability to grant perks for channel members via discord. Many content creators, like me, heavily rely on Discord to enhance the community they build without being gaming focused. Therefor this requirement unnecessarily locks out many creators!
2. If the requirement is that you need to be verified on YouTube you lock out even more creators as that feature is only available for channels with more than 100.000 subscribers. Although this might seem like a good idea if you consider "verified" to be an endorsement of the creator by You-tube, this is in fact not the case. "Verified" YouTube accounts only exists because it's easy to create a new similar account to big creators and make people think you're them. Endorsement from YouTube happens when you sign up with the partner program.
In conclusion, I feel like it's logical that once you're eligible for the YouTube Membership Program, you should also be able to integrate your YouTube channel with your discord server!

This sounds like Discord itself are forgetting what their own brand is about.
They used to be a Gaming Socialization platform, but have changed their literal brand to being about anything that pertains to socializing. So this just further frustrates me, on your behalf, since it doesn't align with their brand. Upvoted! I hope we're able to see an improvement on Discord's side! Fingers crossed*
