Can't mention some roles

For some reason I cannot mention certain roles in a server that I own. I've made sure to go through and give both the roles I have the proper permissions and the roles I'm trying to mention the proper permissions but for some reason I myself cannot mention these certain roles. Other people with the proper role permissions can mention the same roles I'm trying to mention but for some reason I cannot. Even after giving myself the same role as these people, I still cannot mention the specific roles I'm trying to.

    I have a similar issue on my own server. I've noticed a couple things that's helped me work around it in a rather roundabout way. This issue affects me on web and desktop, but I can ping roles normally on mobile. I also self-host a bot to manage a few things on my server, and I can copy-paste the role ID like this and it will still ping: <@&ROLE-ID> You can still use Developer Mode and go into your Role Settings to copy the ID of a given role, then slide it into the above template before pasting it in. I would like to be able to ping my roles again properly soon, but hopefully this helps as a workaround in the meantime.

    This is pretty helpful, thank you. Although it would obviously be nice to not have to do these work arounds just to ping a specific role.
