I'm very bothered by a few features with the avatar settings

Just to put it shortly, I'm a picky person and I make lots of attempts into having the perfect cropped profile picture

I have to reuse an image multiple times just to try and get the circle right, and these new settings make it so whatever I apply, instantly shows as my avatar, like, I'm trying to see what it looks like on my account first before I save it, so, then my 2 uses get wasted

The other thing is I used to be able to have high KB gifs as pfps, but now there's a shorter limit to the KB?? Not sure why, but I'm also bothered by that since I'm too lazy to find out how to compress
