Linux - Screen Share Sound Support
With Screen Sharing sound already supported on Windows, I would like Screen Sharing to be supported for Discord on Linux as well.
Gaming on Linux exists and does relatively well despite what many naysayers think or wish to believe and having this support for users such as myself would make this less frustrating.
(Not to mention that we're not even mentioned in the supported platforms art along with the other logos at the bottom of the site's webpages...)

to not add proper linux support to your app is you just being lazy. as a company your primary goal is to expand, which you have been trying to do for awhile now. You're no longer just a "Free voice and text chat for gamers". You're expanding to a much wider and bigger community trying to not only get gamers onto your platform now, but teachers, students, politicians, artists, clubs, developers, and I'm sure plenty of others. now that you're so big and have all of these people creating these communities on your platform, why are you completely ignoring the people who use Linux? It shouldn't be hard to simply add support for users who use the kernel just to simply share their screen on a electron app. Especially with how many people are switching to the kernel, And even more so with the terrible introduction to Windows 11.
And, You know. Just people done with Microsoft's bs.6 -
+1 here, there's no technical reason why this can't be implemented, Pulseaudio already supports capturing desktop audio, Mac has soundflower for doing the same (a workaround to a very old issue on mac but it's possible) There's just a complete lack of an option to say 'capture audio from this source' when choosing the streaming options.
OBS Manages to do this most basic function just fine,
Electron which the client uses has the option to capture from sound input just fine Hell did you know Beatport released an entire damn DJ application that does that AND midi support? It's 100% developer "oops we dropped the ball on that one" and 0% technical limitation.

So, I've seen there are posts older than 3 years already, asking for this feature, I know Linux isn't as big as windows in it's user base, but this is really disrespectful, specially with the new steamdeck coming up and the progress that Linux Gaming has done over the years, it's just ridiculous that no one is looking into this.

just add it for pulseaudio at least, like there is a compatibility layer for pulse in pipewire and jack, comon

or just add some interface for it so that the linux users could build their own solution!

this is the #1 upvoted request under voice and video, can we get some form of a response from Discord team?

Perhaps Discord representatives should get in contact with Fedora/Red Hat, if there are technical difficulties why they have not fixed this yet? Fedora are looking to collaborate with vendors to solve streaming related issues on Linux, maybe it would fall into this initiative: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Workstation/LiveStreamingCompatInitiative#Fedora_Workstation:_Live_Streaming_Compatibility_Initiative
