As most people will know, a few months ago Discord removed the verified developer badge, due to people trying to get it in malicious ways.
I completely understand and respect this decision, but was it a good idea?
Yes and no.
While it prevents "badge hunters" from spamming fake bots to the verified queue just to get the badge, it also prevents legit developers getting the badge too. Even though this badge isn't a big thing, it is a great motivation, and it is something developers can be proud about.
The biggest problem with this decision is that lots of developers just didn't have enough time to get verified before the deadline, and because of that I would like to suggest something, that may or may not be a good idea: Give every verified developer the badge on a given date (ex.: every developer who gets verified in the next 2 months will get the badge on 01/01/2021).
It would be great if the Discord Team actually considered something like this, beacuse it will give all the people who just barely missed the badge an opportunity to still get it.
