"A petition for them to remove it". That's literally the message I got when I was using discord And at 3 days ago I had lots of tabs on doing other stuff, And decided to go back to Discord But that was when I had seen that pop-up message. I honestly don't know why discord had added that message, But They should really remove It cause It's frustrating a lot of people.
And again at that time when It happened I had the app and I had gotten a ping and clicked on It and brought me straight into the discord making me bypass the phone verification, But the only problem Is that when I clicked on servers to view messages It wouldn't load and it kept telling me "messages failed to load".
And another good reason why they should remove it is cause some people don't even have phones. And I think It's pretty dumb of Discord for assuming everyone that uses It has a phone. suggestion- They should add an Email verification.
And the thing Is I even contacted them as to why I had gotten that message and for them to remove it, And they said that they're not gonna remove the phone verification. And sometimes the staff would like take a week to reply and at other times they would just ignore you.
And I had to make an alt account and I don't even have my friends tag But I do have my server Invite but it's expired and there's no way for me to make a new one cause I'm locked out of my main account. And here's the feedback - "This feature is really irritating at least add an email verification or remove it completely. There are so many people out there who don't have phones.
And I have like 19 pings already and really want to see where it's from. (I can't even talk to my friends 😭) 
And If you see this message please leave a comment Cause I will reply to you, and I check my emails like 24/7.
And Also I don't even have a phone :(

I've received the same problem. Even contacted Discord for support but they didn't do a single thing to help me.

Bruh this sucks, for some reason when I using my old phone that still has a keyboard: I get the phone code, I type it in perfectly the same but for some dumbass reason it says "Code is invalid" like if the code was 7948393 I would put that in but it would also say "Code is invalid" Please remove this garbage I been locked out for 2 months.

For me, I have a Chinese number which is (+86), and a us phone number, I tried both on phone, windows, and on google, it keeps saying "you need to update your app to verify your phone number" which both my phone and laptop is at latest version, and I think the web version should have always been the lastest version. Please someone help

This same thing happened to me and discord is just ignoring all emails. Discord used to be the best. God knows what has happened now.

I managed to get contact with the discord staff, they said that they will escalate my issue, but it's been 2 days no email. Luckily, today morning, I tried again, it worked for me, I had to put in the verification code, my password and my 2fa, but you have to keep a phone linked to your discord, or it will block you out again.

lucky you, i contacted discord support and they said they can't change it, they also said it triggered correctly </3 now i have to make a video and hope my friends see it so they know what happened SOB

i just got this issue and it's really annoying- I keep getting pinged and I don't have a phone number and my parents wont let me borrow there phone so I don't know what to do

I think I got hacked before and I made a new account and it just started with that message

Guys from my knowledge with this problem there are a couple ways to fix it. And they all suck but its the only way.
1. Use a family members phone number and tell them to send you the code (What I used and it worked)
2. Delete any account associated with your phone number
3. Try to someone get ownership of your account on your phone number

Because of this poorly designed verification system, I have to stick with this old account of mine and have to use someone's phone number to keep this account verified (Since my phone doesn't work for some reason), Discord, you better fix up your garbage!

my acc LITERALLY just did this to me, i was working on sprites for a game, and i get locked out of my account, just as my phone breaks too, just my luck.

I MISS MY FRIENDS SOOOOO MUCH, 500 PINGS! ITS BEEN A WEEK NOW AND I HAVE NO WAY OF LETTING THEM KNOW, EVEN THO I KNOW THEIR USERNAMES, I HAVE NO IDEA OF THEIR TAGS OR THE FONTS (THEY HAVE SPECIAL STYLED USERNAMES)

Their service department is a joke as the Nexus 6P in terms of durability actually.
I've had problems with online phone numbers and wow, I didnt even have a phone number, its just too expensive for me and also I dont really see the use of a prepaid here when youll need to be like ultra scanned here in germany -_-
Theyre quicker at locking your account and such than addressing real security issues and more ---_______---
