2FA Lockout Issue needs to be addressed
It's been over a year since I've seen someone post about the 2FA lockout issue that many discord users have struggled with overtime and I think it seriously needs to be addressed. People are being locked out by either not saving their backup codes or losing 2FA Authentication access to their old device that it was registered on.
Discord Staff, please find a different way of verification for users who have lost access to their 2FA Authentication device and do not save or lost their backup codes due to lockout.
Different verification ideas can vary:(If lost 2fa or backup codes)
- Through log in locations.
- Phone Number
- Past usernames
- Security questions
Any other way of account verification to recover an account would be highly recommended and requested from the discord community, a lot of people are losing main accounts they've had for years with several server management jobs.
If this issue was fixed within the Discord Community, a lot of people would be able to recover their old accounts back with much more happy users.
Thanks for the consideration of the community and discord staff team,

No, I personally do not agree, because it’s really not that hard to save the backup codes. Just put it in a text file and a free Dropbox and Google Drive Account.

Sure, the backup codes themselves are not hard to save, but it's about having options... if something goes wrong, and you KNOW you have like 3 other ways to PROVE that it's your account, why doesn't discord take advantage of that by confirming them with the user??? It doesn't make any sense, and it's too easy to be locked out of your account...
I know like 5 friends who have all been locked out of their account due to this...
