Membership Screening not "screening" rules for those who were already in the server after enabling it
On all of my servers I had a simple human verification system in place by the Carl-bot. It lets people in only after they react with an emote to a message. It's a very simple thing, obviously not bulletproof but I like the way how simple that is. (didn't want to bother people with captchas)
With the new Membership feature even though at it's current form it's intended to screen rules for the newcomers I have started to replace my simple human verification with this feature as it's much more elegant and even safer than my current system as you would need to click through much more times and even do some scrolling before you can start talking in the server. So pretty much, I use it for human verification.
It works well however, I just realized that for those members who were already in the server (without role) and were stuck outside of the verification gate, the new system does not retroactively asks those users to read the rules. Therefore, I just granted access to all kinds of accounts to my servers.
My bad of course for testing it out better before applying it but here's my suggestion:
Upon enabling "membership screening", shouldn't the feature retroactively ask users to read and agree to the server rules before they can continue to use the server again? Members with roles could be an exception.
(or at least have it as an option to set it up that way)
EDIT: I have also just realized that while newcomers are not able to write messages they can still DM anyone on the server with scams. I somehow assumed that the feature would not let new users DM others till they read the rules. So I would like to add this to the suggestions too.
Don't let new users DM the members of the server until they have read and accepted the rules.
