HELP! Kicked but Banned???

I opened my discord and didn't see a server that I wanted to go in. Then I asked one of the mods of that server what happened to me. He said I was kicked. Then when I tried to join the discord server again, it says that I am banned from that server. What is Happening? The mod said he was certain that he kicked me.
