Two factor authentication

Recently I needed to format my smartphone (My only device that I use the discord for) and it turned out that the google authenticator reset even though I used the same google account, so I ended up losing access to the discord account for over 2 years, the backup codes don't work , for some reason my phone is not registered in the discord even though I remember having registered and logged into servers whose need to be verified via SMS to be able to enter.

 

Conclusion: The discord NEEDs another means of account recovery, in addition the Google Authenticator NEEDs new backup means such as email as backup codes saved in the cloud so as not to risk losing the account due to stolen, broken cell phone , or formatted in my case.

  I think you should consider an authenticator that has cloud backup. I recommend Microsoft Authenticator, but there are many more if you don't like it. Google Authenticator is a dead app and I would suggest staying away from it
