The ability to sort your friends list

The simple ability to create categories for your friends. They could always appear in that category even if they are offline and the ability to create custom names for the categories for certain games and stuff like that or so you don't lose track of them.

    I would like this feature as well since I also use Discord to communicate with customers, not just friends.
    It would make keeping things organized so much easier!

    agree i have multiple discord friends from different channels it would be great to know whos who and from what server for easier sorting wether they online or offline.

    steams friend list has the option where i can make animal crossing group and all users i talk to on there will be listed and able to nickname them how i want.

    Does this exist yet? Seems like it would be easy enough to implement. It's difficult to keep track of having a lot of friends on here without being able to categorize or sort them in some way, especially because users usually don't use their real names as their username. This would be an amazing feature!

    Also desperately need this I have hundreds, maybe even a thousand or more friends and I lose touch with them regularly because I lose them in the sea of added people on my friends list. A way to favorite or categorize them would be so helpful. Even sorting by date added.

    I can see that this request is now 2 years old and nothing has been done yet.

    Definitely needed, especially now since you got all your school and university friends suddenly up on Discord and its just a weird mixed up list.

    Would love a feature like this, to sort friends you know IRL from internet randos that you game with. Would be nice to just have categories, something to prioritize the visibility of certain users from others based off your needs.
