it would be nice, to have an option to put a timer to this.
so, for example, users are allowed to only see the last 10 minutes, or last hour of the chat.

this would greatly improve setting these channels up for returning events, without having to set them up every time, but people still able to see current events, but not too far back

    I feel like if you want this for events, you are probably best off with a bot that purges the channel for you. 

    While I kinda like your idea, I think it is probably not possible to implement, since afaik the message history is linked to each individual's current session which works very different from what you are proposing.
