"2FA Requirement for Moderation" levels
Currently, enabling the "2FA Requirement For Moderation" field requires 2FA for classic mod permissions (Manage Server, Manage Roles, Manage Channels, Kick Members, Ban Members, etc granted on the role level), but also for per-channel permissions (Manage Messages, Manage Channel, Manage Permissions, and Manage Webhooks granted on the channel level).
This makes enabling 2FA difficult for servers whose moderation structure permits users to manage select channels - eg. servers which may provide separate channels for sub-guilds or projects and grant members of those guilds or projects permissions to pin messages in, and edit the descriptions of those channels. Users without 2FA are prevented from even pinning messages if the server requires 2FA for moderators.
I would like to see a verification level introduced for 2FA - similarly to how we have separate required verification levels for members, I'd like to see eg.
- Do not require 2FA
- Require 2FA for moderator roles - role-level permissions (kick, ban, manage server); it is still possible to grant channel-level Manage Messages, Manage Channel, Manage Permissions, Manage Webhooks to users without 2FA. I would suggest this to be the required level for participation in the Partner Program.
- Require 2FA for all moderatory permissions - includes the channel-level perms; any action other than sending messages/using voice chat/changing own nickname requires 2FA (this is what the 2FA requirement is currently)
